Guest: Mitch Steele (Brewer and author of author of the book: “IPA: Brewing Techniques, Recipes and the Evolution of India Pale Ale")

Mitch is widely respected for his talents in brewing great, innovative beer. His expertise in the brewing arts began with his studies at the University of California Davis. Since graduating in 1984 with a fermentation science degree, he has brewed at some of the largest and smallest breweries in the world.

Studying turned into home brewing and, later on in 1988, he made his passion a profession and eventually worked his way up to the title of brewmaster.

Mitch joined Anheuser-Busch in 1992, managing brewhouse and fermenting operations in three breweries, and managing new beer development as part of the Anheuser-Busch Specialty Brewing group in the mid-1990s. Mitch joined Stone Brewing Co. in 2006 and oversaw the brewing and packaging operations.

Mitch is also the author of the book: “IPA: Brewing Techniques, Recipes and the Evolution of India Pale Ale.” His writing talents and abilities go further, in his creation of the beer focused blog entitled: “The Hoptripper.”
